BISMARCK, North Dakota –junior Cole Kringstad was the surprise for the Roughriders. He entered the competition in a four-way tie for the No. 6 seed with a season-high vault of 12-6. He wound up with the best Class A vault of the season, clearing 13-9 for the win. And he did it on an ankle he sprained Wednesday night. “At first we thought it was broken,” Kringstad said. “I was scared I wouldn’t be able to run down the runway. But I was fine. I got lucky at 13 feet, hitting on my third attempt, and it went from there. It just all clicked today. “I was hoping to get a PR and place in the top six. This is very unexpected.” more
