International: Finished second on a sprained ankle at the 2013 Pan Am Junior Championships in Medellin, Colombia, on Aug. 23 … jumped 17-0 3/4 to take silver.

High School: Gatorade Louisiana Boys Track and Field Athlete of the Year in 2013 … had the No. 2 high school mark in the nation in 2013 with a state record 17-3 ½ … second at the U.S. junior nationals in Des Moines, Iowa, at 16-8 ¾, a mark that tied Daven Murphree’s winning height … qualified for the Pan Am Junior Championships in Colombia (Aug. 23-25, 2013) … cleared 16-8 to win the Louisiana 2A state title – his second — and lead John Curtis Christian to the team championship … a three-time New Balance outdoor All-American … ranked No. 5 in the pole vault on the 2012 world youth list with a best of 16-6½. 

Personal: Joins his brother, sophomore pole vaulter Dalton Duvio, on the Stanford team … maintained a 3.87 unweighted GPA.

2013 Season: Outdoors – Jumped a collegiate best 16-10 3/4 in his season debut, finishing fifth in the invitational flight of the Stanford Invitational … the jump placed him in a tie for eighth on Stanford’s all-time list … placed 14th at the Pac-12 Championships (15-7 1/4) … was 37th at the NCAA West Prelims (16-6 3/4) … won the Big Meet (16-2). Indoors – Placed 10th at the MPSF Championships at 16-4 … competed in five meets, reaching 16-4 in two meets.

2012 Season: Outdoors – Placed ninth at the Pac-12 Championships with a season outdoor best of 16-4 1/2. Indoors - Placed eighth in the MPSF Championships with a collegiate career best of 16-8.

High School: The 2011 Louisiana 2A indoor and outdoor champion … named All-State and All-American in 2011 … the John Curtis Christian School record holder with a meet-record mark of 17-1 at the Sugar Bowl Classic in New Orleans … set the mark despite competing on a sprained ankle … led John Curtis to a pair of 2A state titles.

Personal: Major is undeclared, but considering symbolic systems … was a Level 9 gymnast until turning to track and field in eighth grade … son of Todd and Racquel Duvio … has one younger brother, Dylan, a Stanford freshman pole vaulter in 2014

2013 Season: Outdoors – Jumped season best 16-1 to place ninth at the Pac-12 Championships … placed second in the Big Meet at 15-8 1/4 … vaulted in six meets … also ran the 4×100 at the Big Meet (43.67). Indoors – Placed seventh at the MPSF Championships at a season-best 16-4, placing at No. 5 on Stanford’s all-time freshman list… made his collegiate debut at the Cherry & Silver Invitational in Albuquerque, clearing 15-9 … competed in five meets.

High School: Two-time Arizona state champ … set personal record 17-0 while winning the Chandler City Meet … won Arizona state Division I titles in 2011 and 2012, the latter at 16-6 … won the 2011 Arizona Meet of Champions and was second in 2012, at 16-5 … placed seventh at 2012 U.S. junior championships … set a state junior-class record of 16-1 1/4.

Personal: Son of Dean Starkey … father won the bronze medal at the 1997 World Championships in the pole vault, and had a best of 19-5 … he also coached pole vault at Cal Poly-San Luis Obispo … stepmother is the former Jill Wittenwyler, who competed in the 2000 Olympic trials in the pole vault, and had a best of 14-1 1/4 … she coached multi-events at South Dakota State … parents run the Arizona Pole Vault Academy on their Queen Creek property … has two younger sisters, Taylor and Tyra.

2013 Season: Outdoors – Placed fifth at the Pac-12 Championships, earning her third consecutive top five Pac-12 finish, with a jump of 13-0 1/4 … finished 28th at the NCAA West Prelims (12-2) … won the Big Meet, at 12-6 3/4 … had a season best of 13-0 3/4 while finishing third at the Payton Jordan Invitational … a USTFCCCA All-Academic selection … named Pac-12 All-Academic honorable mention. Indoors – Placed 11th at the MPSF Championships, at 12-5 1/4 … competed in four meets, with a season best of 12-6 1/4 at the Don Kirby Invitational.

2012 Season: Outdoors – Tied for fourth at the Pac-12 Championships at 13-4 1/2 … advanced to the NCAA West Preliminary Round, jumping 12-10 1/4 in the preliminaries and placing 20th overall … cleared 13-4 1/2 at the Mt. SAC Relays … earned Pac-12 All-Academic honorable mention honors. Indoors - Placed 13th at the MPSF Championships at 12-4 3/4 … had a season-best of 12-10 1/4 at the Flotrack Husky Classic … an MPSF All-Academic selection.

2011 Season: Outdoors - Advanced to the NCAA Preliminary Round … placed fourth at the Pac-10 Championships with a mark of 13-4½ … placed third at the Big Meet at 12-9½ … top vault came at the Brutus Hamilton Invitational with a mark of 13-7¾. Indoors - Placed seventh at the MPSF Championships with a mark of 13-1¾ … season-best came at the Razorback Invitational with a mark of 13-5¼.

High School: A two-time state champion (2009-10) … a three-time all-state member for Indiana (2008-10) … the two-time team most valuable player (2009-10) … set a state meet record of 13-6¼ in 2009 and cleared 13-3 to win as a senior … placed second at the Nike Outdoor Nationals … became the first in school history to wintwo state championships … set a Pendleton Heights record of 13-7 … named the 2010 Gatorade Indiana Track and Field Athlete of the Year … captained the Arabians to the 2009 Hoosier Heritage title … member of the three-time sectional championship team … captained the cheerleading team for two years during which the team earned 2010 all-state and the 2009 State Stunt Group championship … also competed in gymnastics and was ranked in the top-10 in the all-around at Level Nine, and rose to Level 10.
