CHARLESTON – After a third place finish in the pole vault at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field National Championships, Eastern Illinois junior Jade Riebold is to extend her summer of competition at this weekend’s US Track & Field National Championships in Des Moines, Iowa. Riebold qualified for the US National meet clearing fourteen feet, five and a quarter inches at the recent NCAA Championships. The height was a career best for Riebold who owns both the EIU school and Ohio Valley Conference records in the event. Riebold earned first team All-American honors for the outdoor season while being named the OVC Female Field Athlete of the Year. During the indoor season Riebold was the national runner-up in the pole vault earning first team All-American honors and OVC Female Field Athlete of the Year accolades. The National Championships open today with the women’s pole vault set for 1:30 p.m. on Sunday afternoon.
