Hendersonville, NC–After setting a new personal record and placing first at the Powerade State Games track meet two weeks ago to qualify for Nationals, East Henderson pole vaulter Corey Ginley outdid himself again last weekend. The rising East senior vaulted 14-8.25, a new PR, to place fourth in the Emerging Elite portion of the New Balance Outdoor Nationals, held last weekend at North Carolina A & T University in Greensboro. He had jumped 14-6 the weekend before at the State Games. Because of his age he competed in the Emerging Elite, but could qualify for the championship portion of the meet next year as a senior.  East pole vault coach Jim Ward accompanied Ginley in Greensboro. “He almost made 15-2, but he just barely touched it with his arm, and it was 15-2 that won it,” Ward said. “He’s only going to get better and as far as talent goes he’s probably the best around. At one point he was fifth in the state, but he’s probably higher now.” more at BlueRidgeNow.com
