Columbus Ohio – the Ohio High School Athletic Association will hold its annual Hall of Fame Induction banquet Saturday. Local track and field official Sam Gomer, Ottawa, will be one of the officials to be inducted into the Hall of Fame Saturday.
Gomer has been a Ohio High School track and field official since 1981 and an USATF official since 1984 at the Master Level. During his career as a high school official Gomer had officiated at 26 state cross country championships and 32 state track and field championships, including the 2014 championships where he work the pole vault. He has been a head referee at regional and district mets, as well as a head field judge at districts and regionals and a pole vault umpire. more
