Texas –After barely missing out on the chance to go to State in 2013, Tomball senior pole-vaulter Ali Uhle kicked it into another gear. From her training, to workout programs, Uhle did not want to be on the outside looking in again at the end of her senior campaign. At Regionals, Uhle took care of business clearing 12-feet, which was good enough to earn the senior her first trip to the State Track Meet this week in Austin. “It’s really rewarding because we have been working on this a while,” Uhle said. “To finally see the results and getting the higher heights we’ve been looking at for a long time, pole vaulting’s very time consuming and you put a lot of effort into it. There’s definitely a mental part of it, so it’s really cool to work through all of that and finally get to go to State.” Entering the State Track Meet, Uhle’s personal record stands at 12’-3 ¼”, she tried breaking that at Regionals by going for 12’-6” but did not clear the bar. Uhle’s goal is to reach that height and maybe even higher at State. There is a good chance she will get a new personal record, considering she is returning to the exact same track where she set her current PR. more
