ADRIAN, Mich. — Chris Schurr won the pole vault with a conference- and school-record height and was named the meet’s Most Outstanding Performer, leading a trio of Siena Heights event-winners as the Saints’ men’s track and field team placed second in the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Outdoor Championships, which ended Saturday at O’Laughlin Stadium. Schurr vaulted an NAIA automatic-qualifying height of 17 feet, 0 3/4 inches (5.20 meters) while teammates Nicholas Goyette and Christopher Whiting placed fourth and sixth, respectively. Goyette registered at 14-7 1/4 (4.45m) and Whiting cleared 14-1 1/4 (4.30m). Schurr’s winning jump bested his previous season-best by four inches.more
