Porter had a vault of 17 feet, 8½ inches, tying him with Kyle Wait of Kansas State, Josh Dangel of Cincinnati and Michael Arnold of Idaho State, and earning the Vols three-quarters of a point. Porter used only one jump for his first three heights, but missed on three attempts at 18-0½. Junior Chase Brannon (17-8½) was 14th and freshman Jake Blankenship (17-23/4) tied for 15th. Even though Brannon’s vault was the same as Porter’s, he needed three jumps to clear 17-8½. Sam Kendricks of Mississippi State won with a jump of 18-81/4. more
