CORVALLIS, Ore. – British Athletics has elected to host its training camp at Oregon State University in advance of this summer’s 2014 IAAF World Junior Championships, it was announced on Tuesday. “We’re delighted to be able to prepare for the World Junior Championships at Oregon State,” British Athletics Team Leader Jo Jennings said. “Having visited the campus, I was very impressed with the excellent facilities and the enthusiasm and helpfulness of the staff. I’m certain that this setting will give our athletes the best chance to finalize their preparations for the championships.” The first phase of Oregon State’s Whyte Track and Field center was officially unveiled at a ribbon-cutting ceremony in September 2012. The equipment used at the 2013 NCAA Championships held at Hayward Field, which included pole vault and high jump landing areas, hurdles, starting blocks and steeplechase barriers, was another gift from the Whyte family last June. The Beavers hosted their first two meets in 25 years during the 2013 outdoor campaign and will again put on a pair of events this coming season, one in early March and another in early May.more
