New York –St. Joseph by-the-Sea’s Erini Farid rewrote her school record and won the CHSAA Varsity Meet pole vault competition Sunday, scaling 9 feet, 9 inches at the New Balance Armory Track and Field Center, in Manhattan. Farid, who had a previous best of 9-6, cleared 8-6 in her first attempt; 9-6 in two attempts, and then posted the winning mark in two jumps. The Vikings’ senior was unsuccessful at 10-1.
