Ireland –The fourth annual Clonliffe Harriers athletes of the year presentation night took place in the Clonliffe club bar last night. It was a well attended affair where the club honored not only the athletes of the year but also the Clonliffe club champions during the previous twelve months and the clubs record breakers. Club Captain Joe Cooper then announced his selection of the Clonliffe Harrier of the year. In introducing the Clonliffe Harrier of the year Joe stated that the athlete chosen was an athlete who was always available to compete for the club when called upon, he was an athlete who could be relied upon to compete in any round of the league with a simple reply of when asked “when, where and what time”. In addition the athlete is the top athlete in the country at his chosen discipline, in 2013 he won his 16th and then 17th National Senior pole vault (indoor & outdoor) titles – the Clonliffe Harrier of the year 2013 David Donegan (5.00m). Needless to say David being the modest individual he is politely declined to make a speech! more
