79-Year-Old Pole Vaulter Looks to Set New Records at Senior Games

Flo  Meiler didn’t take up pole vaulting until she was 65. Now she is a true Game  Changer and she wants to share her message that it is never too late to begin  working out and getting in shape, regardless of age.  The National  Senior Games, presented by Humana, is part of the United States Olympic  Committee for athletes 50 years and older. Flo will be competing in this year’s  Games in Cleveland. About Flo: Meiler set the  world indoor record in the pole vault and seven American records in the indoor  pole vault, indoor weight throw, indoor 60-meter hurdles, indoor pentathlon,  outdoor 200-meter hurdles, the discus, and 2000-meter steeplechase. In addition  to setting these records, Meiler was the WMA Outdoor World Champion in  heptathlon, pole vault, and discus; the Indoor National Champion in the 60-meter  hurdles, high jump, pentathlon and pole vault, and Outdoor National Champion in  the high jump, pentathlon, pole vault, hammer, 80-meter hurdles, and 2000-meter  steeplechase. more
