Irish Pole Vault record holder Brian McGovern pictured with Ballinamore AC clubmate Colin Griffin, his father Thomas and uncle Liam at the European Team Championship in Santry last Sunday. The 22-year-old Manhattan College student, whose parents Thomas and Bernadette are from Leitrim, is a member of the Ballinamore AC and finished in a magnificent fourth position among the 12 competitors, clearing 5.15m on his second attempt. more
