HAVANA, Oct. 14 (Xinhua) — Cuba will field its top track and field stars at the upcoming Central American and Caribbean Games (CACGs), to be held Nov. 14 to 30 in Veracruz, Mexico. Cuba’s national athletics commission said Tuesday the 69-member delegation including pole vaulter Yarisley Silva, who was an Olympic silver medalist and indoor world champion, and hammer thrower Yipsi Moreno, two-time Olympic silver medalist. The two are “among other figures who have garnered important results at the continental and global levels,” the commission said in a statement. Cuba hopes to win at least 18 gold medals in track and field events. Cuba has collected 287 gold medals from previous Central American and Caribbean Games, far ahead of the 134 golds for second-placed Mexico. The island nation did not participate in the 2010 edition of the regional event in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico
