VERMILLION, S.D. — USD standout pole vaulter Bethany Buell was named the Summit League’s Women’s Outdoor Field Athlete of the Year on Wednesday. Buell, this year’s NCAA Division I pole vault champion, becomes the first athlete to win the league’s Women’s Outdoor Field Athlete of the Year honor twice (she also honored in 2012). Buell tied the NCAA Outdoor Championship pole vault record with a mark of 14-7.25 inches and earned her second U.S. First Team All-America honor. more at Sioux Falls Argus Leader
