In a chilling video captured by husband/ coach Rick Suhr, Jenn Suhr suffered multiple injuries when her pole shattered in an early- August practice.. The 32-year-old Olympic champ had just planted the pole during an early-August practice jump in the training facility behind their home in upstate New York. The video shows the pole breaking with a loud bang, sending Jenn tumbling into the padding at the lower front of the pit. She can immediately be heard crying out, “Ow” in a pained voice. Rick Suhr said that his wife suffered injuries to her left hand, wrist and shoulder, as well as to her ribs and neck.“It was hard to watch as a coach,” he said, “and even harder to watch as a husband.” While uncertain how long she may need to recuperate, he added that Jenn may be out as long as September’s Continental Cup.
