DES MOINES – The nation’s top junior athletes will face off at the 2013 USA Junior Outdoor Track & Field Championships this Wednesday through Sunday at Drake Stadium in Des Moines Iowa.
USATF.TV debuts on Wednesday, June 19 with live coverage from 1 p.m.-7:20 p.m. ET and includes complete coverage of the Junior heptathlon and decathlon competition. USATF.TV will be your continued destination for live competition coverage throughout the week. The Junior Championships feature athletes who will be between 16 and 19 years old at the end of the year. The meet serves as the selection for the Pan American Junior Championships in Medellin, Colombia in August.
Notable Junior Vaulter
Daven Murphree (Winnsboro, Texas) is the top entrant in men’s pole vault with a mark of 5.39m/17-8.50. Murphree recently claimed his third consecutive Texas 2A state championship. Dylan Duvio (Kenner, La.) is not far behind, as he entered the meet with a mark of 5.27m/17-3.5. more
