You might think a Commonwealth Games medalist would be have been able to bask in the glory of her success after Glasgow.
But less than 72 hours after claiming a stunning silver for Wales and sharing the Hampden Park party stage with Usain Bolt, pole vaulter Sally Peake was back in her day job as a physiotherapist in Cardiff.
“I went back to work on the Tuesday after which is a bit of a shock after going through that experience,” said Peake, who works for Andrew Seary Physiotherapy in Whitchurch.
“I was straight back into things and to return to some sort of reality was difficult.
“I work and train which is an interesting but sometimes hard balance.
“I train for a lot of hours a day and go to work mainly in the evenings about three or four times a week.
“I am on my feet a lot and it can be tiring.
“But I work in a private clinic because that gives me the flexibility.
“I have very understandable employers and the guy I work for is involved in athletics and interested in what I do. more
