Lebanon rising senior Erin Winters, the reigning L-L League and District 3 pole vault champ, capped her junior campaign in style. Winters cleared 11-11 ¾ and took third place in the New Balance Outdoor Nationals Emerging Elite class at North Carolina A&T in Greensboro on Friday. Hailey Sweatman from Charleston, South Carolina, won gold with a clear of 12-3 ½, and Kaitlyn Toman from Allentown earned silver also with a clear of 12-3 ½, only in more attempts. Winters won the L-L title with a PR-clear of 12-8 (an L-L finals record), and followed that up a week later with 12-0 and a gold medal in the District 3-AAA finals. Winters finished fourth in the PIAA championships with another 12-0 clear. Now she has a third-place medal in Nationals to add to her already bulging resume — with another season to go at Lebanon.
