Seniors Michael Vani and Albert Fournette each earned a trip to the NCAA D-I Outdoor Track and Field National Championships, after Vani registered a pole vault height of 17-5.5 and finishing in a tie for first, and Fournette threw 65-3.5, and finished sixth in the men’s shot put, at the NCAA Preliminary Rounds in Jacksonville, Fla. The duo will now head to the National Championships in Eugene, Oregon from June 11-14 at Hayward Field on the campus of the University of Oregon. This is the first trip to the National Tournament for Vani and the second for Fournette, with his first coming in 2012, when he also picked up All-American honors. Vani finished in a tie with Sam Kendricks of Ole Miss for first place at the prelims, earning a trip with a height of 17-5.5. Vani went the entire meet without missing a jump, matching Kendricks on every jump. more
