Caldwell High alum Matt Sullivan won the pole vault title on Friday at the Western Athletic Conference track and field championship meet held in Orem, Utah.
Sullivan, a junior at the University of Idaho, vaulted a height of 17 feet, 7.25 inches to win the title.
His distance was 16 inches better than second-place finisher Daniel Zupeuc, a freshman at Grand Canyon.
Sullivan was a back-to-back 5A state champion for Caldwell, concluding his career in 2011.
