BRUNSWICK, Maine – Bowdoin junior pole vaulter Erin Silva (Westborough, Mass.) has been named the NESCAC Women’s Field Performer of the Week.
Silva cleared a height of 12′ 3.25″ (3.74m) in the Pole Vault at the University of New Hampshire Invitational to win the event and break her own school record. The distance is one inch higher than her All-American height from last spring and currently ranks third in Division III.
The best pole vaulter in Bowdoin women’s track & field history, Silva owns the school’s indoor and outdoor marks in the event and has made four trips to NCAA Championships in her career, earning All-American status in 2013.
