ELMHURST, Ill. – North Dakota State senior Andy Lillejord was named The Summit League’s Indoor Track & Field Athlete of the Week for his performance at the Jack Johnson Classic on Jan. 25.
The Jamestown, N.D., native earned his third career Indoor Track and Field Athlete of the Week award and second this season after posting an NCAA top-25 height in the pole vault. Lillejord finished third at Minnesota’s Jack Johnson Classic, recording a lifetime-best 17-01.50 (5.22m), which is tied for 23rd in the nation. He leads the league by nearly a foot in the event and ranks second all-time at NDSU.
Lillejord also currently stands at No. 2 in the nation in the heptathlon with his score of 5,628 points at the Dakota Duals on Dec. 6-7.
NDSU will compete at the Bill Bergan Invitational hosted by Iowa State on Friday, Jan. 31, and Saturday, Feb. 1.
