Max Curran could have wrapped up his weekend on Friday when it came to the pole vault, and called it a good one. Curran instead decided to jump on Saturday at the Trent Jackson/Cedric Walker Invitational, and again produced a personal-best performance. The Williamson senior cleared 14 feet, 5 inches to become one of 17 individuals or relay teams to set meet records at The College of Brockport. This was the second edition of the meet, but most of the records also were all-time bests at a facility that has hosted five college meets and nine overall. “Very good day, especially after having a meet yesterday,” Curran said. Curran launched himself up and over the bar at 14-1 on Friday at the Wayne-Finger Lakes/Livingston County Championships at Hobart College in Geneva. That set a Williamson and personal record that stood less than 24 hours. “Just for the fun of pole vaulting,” Curran said. “I just love it. My older brother (Alex) got me to do it. “It was definitely a challenge, it looked so scary. The first jump is always intimidating. Once you clear it, it’s alright.”
